About

The Y'all Stars play string band music with an emphasis on close harmony. They like to play songs by the Delmore Bros, Blue Sky Boys, Louvin Bros and Carter Family, as well as their original music.

They met through Barbara Brousal and her long-running Ponkiesburg Pickin' Party, held every sunday in Brooklyn since 2000.

Members of the Y'all Stars have performed with: Barbara Brousal, Demolition String Band, Open Road, Kate and Lou Band, Greg Garing, The Driftwoods, Dan Zanes, Buddy Merriam, Andrew Hunt, The Dixon Family, Danny Weiss and Mary Olive Smith, and the late John Herald.

Frequent guests at Y'all Stars show include Andy Cartoun, Ken Ficara, Andy Cotton, John Simpson, Jen Larson, Tony DeLello, Rick Shields, Izzy Landau, Fred Skellenger, Doug Hatt, and Kerryn Tolhurst.
